Privacy Policy

POVs is operated by Alteus Labs LLC, based in California, United States. This notice describes how we handle information when you use povs.gg. Contact us at support-povsgg@alteuslabs.io.

What we collect and why

• Accounts. Clerk handles authentication and receives the account information you authorize Twitch to share. POVs uses your Clerk user ID to associate saved rooms with your account and displays your name and avatar. We do not receive your Twitch password.
• Your room library. We store channel combinations, room names, favorites, layouts, visit counts and timestamps, and a random device identifier associated with visit counts. These provide recent rooms, favorites, and cross-device sync when signed in.
• Browser storage. With your permission, we remember your library and layout preferences on this browser. Without that permission, those preferences stay in page memory for the current visit. We always store your privacy choices when browser storage is available. Clerk uses cookies and similar storage to provide requested account/session and security features.
• Service information. Hosting and authentication providers process connection information such as IP addresses, device/browser details, request times and security events. Room URLs contain channel names and layout settings and may appear in browser history or hosting logs. Our application error logs use request IDs and status codes, not saved-room contents or authentication tokens.
• Support. If you contact us, we receive your email and what you send, and use it to answer and resolve your request.

Twitch players, chat, and advertising

Twitch video and chat are third-party services. They connect only after you allow Twitch embeds in Privacy settings. When loaded, Twitch receives connection information and may use cookies or similar technologies for playback, accounts, measurement and advertising, including activity across services. The same choice controls both video and chat; denying it leaves room arrangement and external Twitch links available. We cannot selectively disable tracking within Twitch's player.

POVs does not run its own advertising or analytics SDK. We do not sell your saved-room library. Twitch's own use of information and advertising choices are described in its Privacy Notice and Privacy Choices. Choosing to load an embed does not sign you into Twitch.

Who processes information

We use Clerk for authentication and Render for hosting and saved-room storage. Twitch provides embedded content directly under its own policies. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect people and the service, or complete a business transfer with appropriate safeguards. Room libraries are private to their account; anyone who has a room URL can open that channel combination.

Retention and deletion

Account libraries remain while your account is active unless you ask us to delete them. You can delete your account through Clerk's Account settings. After Clerk delivers the deletion event, we erase its library from the active database. A hash of the deleted account ID is retained for up to 30 days, plus the next hourly cleanup, to prevent stale sessions from restoring it. That record contains no room contents.

Browser privacy choices expire after six months. Local room data remains until you turn off browser remembering, clear it through Privacy settings, or clear site data. Account caches are removed from this browser when the app observes sign-out/account changes. Other devices and closed tabs may still hold local copies; clear site data on those devices too. Deletion does not erase room URLs from browser history or remove your Twitch account.

Operational backups are restricted to recovery and are not used as an active account library. We remove deleted-account libraries again before putting a restored database into service. Provider security records, support correspondence, and information needed for legal obligations may be retained as needed for those purposes. Contact us for the retention details applicable to your request.

Your choices and requests

Use Privacy settings to change browser remembering and Twitch permissions. Turning Twitch off removes its embeds and reloads the viewer to stop its loaded scripts; it cannot erase third-party cookies or information Twitch already received. Use Twitch's own privacy controls for those. Our Download room data control exports the current library; contact support-povsgg@alteuslabs.io to request access, correction, deletion, or another privacy right available under applicable law. We may need to verify your identity, and will respond within applicable deadlines. We do not penalize you for making a privacy request.

When your browser sends Global Privacy Control, we keep Twitch embeds disabled. You may still open channels directly on Twitch. We do not separately change behavior in response to the older Do Not Track signal; your explicit privacy choices continue to apply.

Location, children, and changes

This service is operated from the United States and initially intended for US users. Providers may process data in the US and other countries. Where applicable, processing relies on providing the service you request, maintaining its security, legal obligations, or your consent for optional storage/embeds. Mandatory rights in your location remain available; contact us if you have a concern or wish to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority where applicable.

POVs is not directed to children under 13. Users must also meet Twitch's minimum age for their location. If you believe a child has supplied personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where required.

We post updates here with a revised date. For material changes, we will provide an additional notice in the service where appropriate and seek fresh permission when required.
